History:
The Cavalier King Charles Spaniel originated in the United Kingdom where various Toy Spaniels were bred together for the royal family of King Charles II. King Charles II had an affinity to certain traits of his King Charles Spaniel growing up as a child and offered prize money to anyone who could yield the "old-fashioned type" of Spaniel. The result was the CKC Spaniel as known today with a flat head, pronounced snout and a lozenge on the crown of its head.
